CUT to YOU | Explore

Today I am so excited to bring you my very first layout for CUT to YOU. Gwen has an amazing range of pre-cut cut files,
which is an absolute game-changer if you are like me and
do not own an electronic die-cutting machine.

This month CUT to YOU is sponsoring the August
challenge at Scrap The Boys challenge blog.
Here's a look at the challenge.

I have used the Wild Geometric Custom Cut. I cut it into individual leaves to use on my project as I wanted to create a fan shape around my photo.

I backed each leaf with a different coloured paper. This is a great technique to use up all the scrap pieces of patterned paper I tend to horde.

My title and layered driftwood pieces are
laser cuts from Uniquely Creative.

I've added some embellishments from some other
Aussie hand-made brands -
Charm's Creations, Rainbow Splendour and Corbett Creations.

I've also added some paper flowers from Little Birdie Crafts,
and resin flowers from D'Lish Scraps.

Make sure to head over to the CUT To YOU shop
and check out all the new release designs.

Thanks for looking

Dusty Attic July Mood Board Challenge

Today I am playing along with the July challenge at The Dusty Attic

Here's a look at the mood board

And here is my layout

I used a piece of 7 Dots Studio 'Homegrown' paper as my base, then added some mixed media layers - I scraped on some coloured texture paste, added some acrylic paint through a stencil as well as making some marks with an old gift card, and then I added some stamping. I then added some more patterned paper to my layers,
inspired by the polka dots in the mood board.

Next I painted some Dusty Attic Industrial Scrolls and mini View Finders in black. I also painted some Industrial Stars and Star Frames in teal to add to my embellishment clusters.

I added some flowers from Little Birdy Crafts and Kaisercraft.
I also added a flair from Fabrika Decoru.

I finished off with some quotes and enamel dots from Flutterby Designs, some acrylic stars from Corbett Creations, and some stamped images from Aall and Create Stamp set #45.

Jot Magazine May mood board challenge

As soon as I saw this month's Jot Magazine mood board
challenge I was immediately inspired.

I just love this bold and striking colour palette,
its one of my go-to colour combinations.

And here is my layout-

I started with some red tissue paper and a polka dot gift bag, then layered some Flutterby Designs cards under my photo.

My title is a Flutterby Designs wood veneer piece
that I coloured with black gesso.

I was particularly inspired by the red gerbera on the mood board so I added some Kaisercraft paper flowers.
I also added some embellishments from Flutterby Designs, Charm's Creations and D'Lish Scraps.

Viva Las VegaStamps April Challenge

Today I am playing along with the
April challenge at Viva Las VegaStamps

I have created an art journal page about standing out from the crowd.
I was inspired by the birds silhouettes in the inspiration image.

I've used the 'her wings' stamp as my title,
which inspired the whole page.

I've also used Plate 1495 for some marks within my background layers.

The bird stencil is from Fabrika Decoru.

Dusty Attic April challenge

Today I am sharing my take on the Dusty Attic April challenge.

Here's a look at the mood board.

My project is a 'secret garden' canvas.

I created the background on the canvas board with
acrylic paints, distress oxides and stencils.

I layered on some Dusty Attic Chicken Wire chipboard
that I coloured with black acrylic paint.

I also used a Dusty Attic Entangled Heart chipboard piece. I used the negative part for another layer in my 'garden', then the heart as the focal point, tangled within the vines as if it was 'discovered' in the secret garden.
I coloured these chipboard pieces with layers of acrylic paint, gesso, gelatos, and Colour Blast Colour Artist inks.
I highlighted all the details in the heart chipboard piece with a black pen.

CSI Case File No. 252

Today I am sharing my take on the April case file no 252

Here's a look at the case file.

And here's how I solved the case.

I used all the colours in the scheme.

I was inspired to use the following evidence elements:
diamond pattern, circles, numbers, alphabet, hearts.

For the Testimony element I put my journaling in a frame.

To create my background I used Colour Blast Colour Spray and splatters of Colour Blast Colour Artist Ink. Once it was dry I added some Colour Blast Colour Paste through a diamond stencil.

I then added some stamping , using stamps from Aall & Create,
Viva Las Vegastamps and Uniquely Creative.

I added some cards and embellishments from Flutterby Designs.

Kaisercraft February challenge

Today I am playing along with the February challenge at Kaisercraft.

The challenge this month is to use Hexagons.

And here is my layout-

I created a mixed media background using Denim Kaisermist, Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Cube.

I die cut all my hexagons with the Kaisercraft 'Stitched Hexagon' set. I really love how the set has multiple nesting sizes to cut 'hollow' shapes.

I used Kaisercraft papers from Indigo Skies and Sage And Grace collections.

I also added some Indigo Skies Collectables, but the hexagons themselves in different patterns are such a feature I didn't have to add too many embellishments.
