Scrap the Boys October Challenge

I've managed to get one more October challenge done before the end of the month (can you believe it's nearly November!)

This month's prompt at Scrap The Boys is

I decided to scrap a series of photos of my 15-month-old and his newest obsession with the Nintendo DS.

I took inspiration from the game Minecraft and used squares in my design.

Jot Magazine Oct/Nov Mood Board

I am absolutely in love with the latest Mood Board over at Jot Magazine. The greys, browns, turquoise, and reds are just so,
so pretty.

I'm a little bit in love with the layout that I came up with. Not only because I love the colour palette from the mood board to work with, but it's also one of my favourite photos ever of my youngest son.

I added some beautiful spotted feathers that I found, and I think they fit in really well with the mood board.

D'Lish Scraps October Inspiration Board Challenge

Today I've finally finished my layout for the

I used the polka dots for my background, with lots of pops of turquoise, pink and lime green.

I turned the sketch 90 degrees to accommodate my landscape photo.

I don't scrap photos of myself very often, which is why I think I've been playing around with this layout for a couple of weeks.

Off The Rails Scrapbooking October challenge

Today I am having a go at the Off The Rails Scrapbooking October challenge.

I haven't done an Off The Rails challenge before, but I absolutely love this very rainbow mood palette.

And here's what I came up with. I had the perfect rainbow photo.

Thanks for looking!

Society 52 Instagram challenge #15 feature layout

I FINALLY had a chance to play along with the Society52 weekly challenge on Instagram.

This week's challenge is 'SCRAP YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTE'. I chose one of my current favourite song lyrics, and because I love stars on my layouts it seemed like a natural choice.

Here is what I came up with.

On Thursdays the girls add a 'twist' to the challenge, a prompt to add something to the layouts.

This week's twist is 'ADD TIN FOIL'. At first I thought 'What!? Tin foil?", then I realised it would be perfect for my starry layout. I added some foil banners behind my title to make it stand out more, and also added some foil stars.

Any excuse to add more sparkly stars!!

AND I was so stoked to see my layout was chosen as a feature!

I'm such a fan of the Society52 girls - Sarah Bargo and Maggie Massey , so I was blown away that they not only saw my page, but commented - and chose it as a feature!

Black With 2 October challenge

Today I'm having a go at this months Black With 2 challenge - mulberry and pink, with the jounalling word 'PRETTY'.

And here's what I came up with. I had to think outside the box a bit to use the word 'Pretty' on a boys layout. And also Peppa and George are pink!

Scrappery September kit

While I'm waiting for my October kit from The Scrappery to arrive in the mail, and the Peek Party and Cyber Crop for the November kits are happening tonight on The Scrappery's facebook page, I thought I would share a couple of layouts using the September TSK kit 'Jericho'.

The kit contained lots of masculine colours - lots of dark blue which I love working with, and bold geometric patterned papers.

I'm saving the packet of Solstice ephemera for a special gift album I'm making up, so I put that aside and focused on the papers for a couple of layouts.

Unfortunately the glitter pen I used for the journalling didn't photograph well, but the journalling basically talked about how my son really wanted to go on the ferris wheel when we went to the Show.. He clung on to me for the whole ride so I knew he was nervous, but was laughing and waving the whole time.

This is another layout where I used the papers from the kit. This is a very 'pretty' layout, which is not something I do often, but it matched this photo of me and my husband.

Also I was very excited to see a layout I had done for the August Cyber Crop featured on the Scrappery's blog here.

Challenge winner and Today's project

I was lucky enough to be chosen as a random winner for the D'Lish Scraps September Moodboard Challenge.

Today I am working on the October Moodboard Challenge which looks like this.

Scrap Space Reno

Kicking off my new blog with a renovation of my scrap space.

Last weekend was a public holiday here, and in between all the other family activities, my hubby designed and built me a full length table with a shelf above.

This is the before and after!

As you can see in the before photo my supplies were taking up all my workspace and I was working on layouts on a card table.

I am generally working on 2 or 3 layouts at a time so the extra space now allows me to have everything spread out. I also have my supplies now sorted in glass jars, so I can see exactly what I have in my stash!
