Scrapping Clearly December Mood Board

Well it's Christmas time, and that means some holiday time to get some scrapping done!
Today I am playing along with the December mood board at Scrapping Clearly.

I have to admit this is one of my absolute favourite colour palettes to scrap with, I seem to gravitate towards these colours and they just work so well together.

Here is my layout-

I used some Cocoa Vanilla paper as my background, and added some paint stripes.

I added some raw chipboard hearts and viewfinders to match the colour of my title.

I added a couple of red embellies from Charm's Creations and some Tim Holtz Distress Stain splatters for a pop of colour.

Finished off with a Heidi Swapp banner, some flair from D'Lish Scraps and Clique Kits, and of course some sequins and beads.

Scrap The Boys December Challenge

This month the challenge at Scrap The Boys is a sketch challenge-

And here is my layout-

I've had this Kaisercraft cog 12x12 die-cut piece from the Technologic collection in my stash for ages, and I thought this sketch would be perfect to use it. The colours that were printed on it didn't really suit so I covered it in gesso and layered on some awesome 7 Gypsies tissue paper.

I continued the cog theme with some die cuts and metal cogs.

I used the off cuts from my cog die cuts to sprinkle over the layout.

I finished off with some Tim Holtz ruler ribbon, and of course some embellies from Charm's Creations.

Kraft + December Challenge- Wanderlust

The challenge this month at Kraft+ is all about travel and maps.

For my project for this challenge I thought I'd go for something different, and make a quote the focus of my layout.

This was a card from the Kaisercraft Captured Moments 'Getaway' collection, and I found it very inspiring.

For my background I smeared on some gesso, then used some sprays, paint and stamping. I've used an Amy Tan 'Finders Keepers' world map stamp, and I also used my personalised 'adventure' stamp from Kellie Stamps and Jodie York, which I just love.

The background layers are made up of Becky Higgins 'Vintage Travel' Project Life cards. Here is where I added some more map paper.

I finished off the layout with a bit of green raffia, a chevron from Charm's Creations, and I cut up a Heidi Swapp banner to make the triangles. I think the pops of light blue and lime green bring a more modern feel to the otherwise 'heritage' colour palette.

Kaisercraft December Card Challenge

The challenge at Kaisercraft this month is a sketch challenge to make a card.

I thought I would use the inspiration to get some of my Christmas cards made - so I made FOUR using the sketch.
My circle dies and Big Shot got a bit of a workout!

I used papers and stickers from the 'Home For Christmas' range - I really love the natural colours and textures in this collection. I really like how the collection has been really planned out, with lots of cutaparts and sentiments.

For this card I made a shaker pocket with the sentiment behind (my first attempt at making a shaker pocket mind you.)

I absolutely love working with stars all through the year, so I love the fact that stars are very Christmas -themed. I added some Studio Calico gold star vellum. I also used a couple of hand-made stars from Charm's Creations.

I finished off all the cards with some Kaisercraft Rhinestones and alphas, as well as some candy-cane coloured enamel dots from Pink Paislee.

Scrap The Boys November Challenge - "Where's The Food"

The challenge this month at Scrap The Boys is food related.

I have lots of photos of my boys and their food but I chose to scrap this series that make me smile.

I kept to a monochromatic palette to make my photos of that cheeky little face really stand out!

I also kept the embellies to a minimum, only using some black and white patterned flair to complement the patterned paper background.

Show Us Your Stuff November Challenge - "Dream Vacay"

It's such a cool challenge over at Show Us Your Stuff this month. A travel-themed challenge, with these criteria-

Here is my layout. This is a photo of my bucket-list trip sailing the Whitsundays many years ago.

My hand-made item is a map marker and chevron from Charm's Creations.

I've also used some Kaisercraft blooms, and ephemera from the Kaisercraft "Dream Big" and "Sandy Toes" Collectables packs. The anchors and ship's wheel just matched my photo perfectly! I added some string to reflect the nautical theme, and kept the wood veneer pieces a natural colour to match.

Dusty Attic November Mood Board Challenge

I was really inspired to join in with the Dusty Attic November Mood Board challenge, its such a beautiful palette.

Here is my layout.

I started with a mixed media background - texture paste through a stencil, then coloured with mists in different shades of blue.

I used the Dusty Attic String Frame Set. I used the largest size frame over my photo. I painted it white and then brushed on some black ink to add definition. The smaller size I coloured with resin sand medium and gelatos.
I also think the circles reflect the word 'Unbroken' in the mood board.

I also used some Page Pebbles that I coloured
with gelatos and glitter.

The other embellies I used were ephemera from the Kaisercraft
"Dream Big' Collectables pack, Kaisercraft blooms,
a heart from Charm's Creations, a flair from Flutterby Designs
and felt flowers from D'Lish Scraps.

123 Challenge blog November challenge

This month's challenge at 123 Challenge blog is definitely my style!

Here is my take on the challenge. Navy would have to be one of my favourite colours to scrap with, and I really like it teamed with little touches of pink, teal and white.

My background was made with some navy acrylic paint mixed with modelling paste, and then through a stencil from Flutterby Designs. The striped paper matches my shirt, and the doily matches the flowers in my hair in the photo!

I cut my 'happy' title with a Heidi Swapp die, first on watercolour paper that I coloured pink, then cut again on black card stock to make a shadow.

I finished off the layout with some Kaisercraft blooms. These are my favourite colours to scrap with and I have been hoarding these flowers to do a page about myself - this was the perfect opportunity!
