Jot Magazine February Mood Board challenge

I finally got some time to play along with this month's
mood board at Jot Magazine.
The colour palette is so bright and happy.

Here is my layout. This is a sign post at a resort in the Barossa Valley not far from where I live. I like that the sign post is a reminder of how far away the world is, because in this little corner of the world it does feel like you are a world away from everything.

I started by painting and stencilling some shipping tags
- to keep to a 'travel' theme.

I used acrylic paint through a few different Dusty Attic stencils.

I really like the CAS design of my layout, with all the colour and 'chaos' contained to the tags that are the background to my photo.

My title "Ready Set Go" is a Heidi Swapp 4x4 die cut card.

I added a couple of doilies and some white hessian for some texture.

I finished off with a few sequins, and some black splatters.

Scrapping Clearly February Mood Board Challenge

This month's challenge at Scrapping Clearly is this gorgeous mood board. Blue is my favourite colour, and with this palette I absolutely had to give it a go.

Here is my layout. This is a photo of me and my sister as bridesmaids at our sister's wedding.

I was inspired by the image of the Moroccan tiles in the mood board, and I used this as inspiration for my background.

I used a Jen Hadfield stencil with Kaisermist 'Denim' straight onto a sheet of white cardstock. I then used the stencil again as a guide, and on another sheet of cardstock I stencilled different shades of blue acrylic paint. I then cut each shape out and adhered on my background. I stuck some on with foam tape, and pulled the edges up on all of them to create some dimension.

I have matted my photo on some vellum that I embossed with a Heidi Swapp embossing folder, to give some extra texture. I then matted this on plain blue cardstock, and some book pages and lace to add a cream coloured accent to my blue and white page.

My title 'Beautiful'' is from the Heidi Swapp water colour words pack. I have also used a couple of Heidi Swapp puffy stickers.

I have embellished with some different flowers from Kaisercraft, Kasszazz and Cocoa Vanilla. I have also added a couple of butterflies from Scrap Matrix.

Dusty Attic February Mood Board

Its such a beautiful Dusty Attic mood board this month. I love all the white and soft blues. The colours remind me of my dream beach house overlooking the ocean through soft curtains gently swaying in the breeze.

Here is my layout-

I was inspired by the grid design of the mood board. Although I don't think that is an element that is 'officially' in the mood board, it formed the basis for my page design.

Due to of all of the photos I have used, I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum.

I have used a Dusty Attic 'Explore' piece as my title.

I have cut up some pieces of Dusty Attic fishing net 12x12 chipboard to look like driftwood. I have also used some twine to keep to the nautical theme.

I have heat embossed all of the chipboard in white, and I have made it quite 'rough' to keep to the 'shabby chic' feel of the mood board.

Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia February challenge - DT share

Today I am sharing my DT layout for the
Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia February challenge.

Here is the challenge-

And here is my layout-

Blue is definitely one of my favourite colours, its very calming and I am a very calm person. I like to use bold navy blue teamed with softer aqua. On this page I have added some pops of red and black.

My background is a base of blue acrylic paint and then black acrylic paint through my new favourite stencil -  'Webbing #2' from Dusty Attic. I have also watered down some aqua acrylic paint to make some splatters.

The 'Hello Love' title and the other wood veneer is from the new Crate Paper 'Hello Love' collection.

I have also added flair from Flutterby Designs and Clique Kits, a couple of embellies from Charm's Creations, a Pink Paislee fabric tag, and a doily from D'Lish Scraps.

I've finished off my layout with some sequins and some twine.

I hope you can get a chance to have a go at this month's challenge!

Kaisercraft February Mood Board Challenge

The mood board challenge at Kaisercraft this month is right up my alley - inspired by the latest collection 'Coastal Escape'. The beach is my favourite place to be, so naturally I love creating beach layouts.

Here is the mood board-

And here is my layout-

I took inspiration from the stripes in the mood board, and I used the sand paper from the "Base Coat" 12x12 paper pad as my base (mirroring the sand in the mood board). I also used some Cocoa Vanilla Studio aqua and white wood grain paper.

The embellishments are all from my very favourite collection "Sandy Toes" Collectables pack. The colours of aqua, sand and white are so calming (they were actually the colours of my wedding too!)

I mirrored the palm trees on the mood board on my layout.

I also added a Captured Moments card as another layer behind my tissue paper layer.

I finished off with some sequins, and some twine to keep to the nautical theme.

Kraft + Feb Challenge: Going Postal

Another out of the box challenge this month at Kraft+. This month the challenge is to use postage stamps.

Here is my layout-

I have been hoarding this sheet of Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit stamps that I received in the mail, to one day do a baby layout, and this challenge certainly gave me the inspiration to use them. They were all intact and too pretty to throw away. I'm pretty sure it was from a scrapbooking order too, so double win!!!

I kept to the postal/ delivery theme and made a page about my youngest son's birth.

I have a removable tag with some hidden journaling on the back about the morning he was born (Anzac Day).

I have used some embellies from Charm's Creations, and lots of goodies from D'Lish Scraps - the flair, punchinella and wooden letters.

I've also used some Heidi Swapp stamps, washi, and thread.

'Dream Today' - MTW/STG Feb challenges

The challenge at More Than Words Challenge Blog for February is the inspiration word: WONDERFUL and the technique: SPARKLE.

I have collected a lot of gold items over the past few months in kits, and I don't usually use gold very much because I mostly scrap 'boy' pages, but this challenge really inspired me to get them out and start playing.  Although I have to admit I have just discovered how difficult gold foil is to photograph!

I was also inspired by the challenge at Scrap The Girls this month - such a dramatic mood board! The black and gold combination is just DIVINE!

Here is my layout-

This is a photo of me getting ready for my wedding , 6 years ago now! I wanted to document that wonderful feeling of anticipation, and getting dressed up like a princess for one day. And what's more wonderful than a wedding!?

I have journalled on the back of my layout my feelings of excitement, but I wasn't all that nervous (only when I walked in to the ceremony with everyone turning to look at me!)

I just could not go past that My Mind’s Eye 'My Story – Take Aim' gold foil paper, and the Bella! paper with the gold and white stars on black.

My title is a wood veneer piece from the Maggie Holmes Shine collection. I kept it raw, as well as the Imaginarium Designs dragonfly chipboard pieces, as I love the texture, and it matches my book page background and Charm's Creations terrific tab.

I have added some Jen Hadfield 'Home-Made' ephemera for some extra gold bling, and those pink florals are just exquisite!

I finished off the page of with some Doodlebug enamel dots and some Crate Paper tiny word stickers.

Scrap The Boys February Challenge - DT share

I am so excited to be sharing my very first layout share on the Scrap The Boys Design Team.

This month the challenge is a sketch, which looks like this.

And here is my layout.

My background papers are from Echo Park, Crate Paper, and I even threw in a paper from a recent Kaisercraft Christmas collection!

I fussy cut some stars from the back of the stripey pattern paper from Crate Paper, you can have a little bit of pink on a boy page right??!! I really love navy, pink and aqua together. The black gives it a bit more 'edge' from the pink.

I added some D'Lish Scraps flair and tags, and some stamping from Kellie Stamps and Amy Tangerine. A bit of thread for texture, and of course some enamel dots!

I hope you get a chance to have a go at this month's challenge!
