Scrapping Clearly July challenge

There are 2 challenges this month at Scrapping Clearly, a mood board and a sketch. This time I went with the sketch which looks like this-

And here is what I came up with-

My papers are from Jen Hadfield and Simple Stories ( I just love that yellow sunburst paper), as well as some plain cardstock. I have embellished with some ephemera from Hip Kit Club.

Show Us Your Stuff July challenge

This month's challenge at Show Us Your Stuff has a real winter feel (and that snow man is so cute!). This colour palette includes some of my very favourite colours to use on my pages, so I just had to give this challenge a go.

Here is a look at the challenge-

And here is my page-

I've used papers from the Shimelle 'Starshine' collection. For my mixed media background I have applied Micador metallic paint through a Tim Holtz stencil onto white cardstock. I have added some Colour Blast 'Stormy Weather' texture paste through a Flutterby Designs star stencil. I've also added some random honeycomb stamping.

I have added some hand made embellishments from Charm's Creations, as well as some words and a flair from Flutterby Designs. I've also used some 2 Crafty chipboard circles, which I coloured with the same Colour Blast 'Stormy Weather' texture paste to match the stars.

I've added some thread, and finished off the page with some resin stars and some silver star rub-ons.

Scrapbooking Top 50 July challenge - DT share

Today I am sharing my DT page for the Scrapbooking Top 50 July challenge.

First of all let's take a look at the challenge. Its a sketch challenge-

And here is my DT page -

The papers are from Shimelle 'Starshine', combined with plain card stock.
I started my mixed media background with some Micador metallic paint through a Tim Holtz stencil.
I'm a sucker for stars on my pages, especially as I scrap my boys the majority of the time. I just love this star stencil from Flutterby Designs. The flair, the wood veneer stars and the title wood veneer 'sweetheart' are also from Flutterby Designs.

I've also used some flowers and hearts from Cocoa Vanilla Studio, and some gorgeous sea green embellies from Charm's Creations.

Dusty Attic July Mood Board challenge

Another beautiful mood board challenge this month at Dusty Attic. Such vibrant colours that work so well together.

My project for this challenge is a mini canvas to hang in my craft room.

I was inspired firstly by the vibrant colour palette, and also the flowers and butterflies in the mood board.

The quote at the centre of the mood board inspired me to make a creative inspiration piece, and I used the Dusty Attic 'Creative Script' stencil with texture paste as my focus.

I added plenty of flowers from my stash, and also added some Dusty Attic chipboard 'Monarch Butterflies'. I coloured these black, and added some Glossy Accents over the top so they would have some shine.

I also added some black lace for more contrast.

A Very Different Art Journal

Today I have been inspired by the Denim Challenge over on the Finnibair blog.

The challenge is to be inspired to make a project inspired by 'denim'.

I thought I might try something very different and actually make an art journal page, but on a pair of jeans. I found a pair of jeans that my son has long grown out of, and my title of my project is

"What Little Boys Are Made Of"

Denim is such a perfect fabric for rough-and-tumble boys. These pants have been through a lot, and now I can keep them as a keep sake of my son's childhood.

I've used lots of paints, stencils, stamping, and lots of different little embellishments to represent all the little things that get 'collected' in his pockets.

I've added a little metal clock as a reminder to slow down and enjoy every moment, and not let time (and my boy's childhood) slip away too fast.

Scrap The Boys July DT share

The Scrap The Boys challenge for July is right where I'd rather be -  bringing back summer memories in the middle of winter.

Here is my DT layout-

My background paper is Fancy Pants Designs 'Making Waves - Beach Shorts', and I used layers of gesso and different shades of blue acrylic paint to create a background reminiscent of waves crashing.

I have used ephemera from the Kaisercraft 'Sandy Toes' Collectables - definitely one of my favourite collections. I have also used some fishing net chipboard from Dusty Attic that I simply heat embossed in white.

I have used several embellies from Charm's Creations, who are one of the sponsors for this month's challenge. My wood veneer title "Sunny Days' is from Corbett Creations.

I have also used some D'Lish Scraps flair.

Hope you can join us for this month's challenge.

Kraft + July Challenge

When I saw this month's challenge at Kraft Plus I completely fell in love. It was my little happy obsession to get me through my work day, and as soon as I had a chance that night I was able to put my page together.

Here is a look at the gorgeous moodboard. I absolutely love the fact the main challenge was to use sheet music on a project, and I just love the accompanying mood board, so soft and pretty.

 And here is my page

I pulled out the black, green, cream and pink tones from the mood board, as well as the piano keys.

I have used papers from the new Kaisercraft 'Mademoiselle' collection, as well as some other scraps of music paper I had which I think is Crate Paper.

I have added some doilies for softness, and some embellies from Charm's Creations and Flutterby Designs. I have also added some resin music notes from Kit The Habit.

My journaling is hand-written on a Heidi Swapp water colour tag, and I have also used some Heidi Swapp music paper chipboard stickers.
