Scrapbook Boutique August Challenge

I managed to squeeze in one more scrapping challenge for this month.

Tonight I have used the August challenge at Scrapbook Boutique for inspiration for an art journal spread.

Its also the first chance I've had to have a play with my small recent haul from Viva Las Vegastamps.

There really is something therapeutic about cutting, sticking and colouring in!

Athough its not in the mood board, I felt I had to add some red elements for some contrast.

MTW August Challenge/Anna's Craft Cupboard August Challenge

I was inspired by 2 August challenges to create this page.

I used the challenge from More Than Words

And combined this with the sketch challenge at Anna's Craft Cupboard

And here is my page. This is a photo of my son with his best friend. They have been friends since birth, and are still best friends now they are both 5 years old. It's such a blessing that they have grown up together.

I've used lots of different types of circles of different sizes and textures (paper, foam, punchinella, doily, sequins, buttons) and added some wood veneer to keep to the 'outdoors' theme of the photo.

I've used lots of gorgeous hand-made embellies from D'Lish Scraps, Charm's Creations and The Resin Rainbow.

My title 'Friends Forever' is a Heidi Swapp cut-apart that I cut into a circle shape to fit the theme.

Scrap The Girls August challenge

This month's challenge at Scrap The Girls is a gorgeous mood board-

And here is my page-

My papers are from one of my favourite collections - Shimelle 'Starshine", and also a piece from Amy Tan 'Finders Keepers'. I've also used my favourite Tim Holtz spray - Mermaid Lagoon.

I've used an arrow and a page runner from Charm's Creations, as well as flair from Flutterby Designs, and resin pieces from The Resin Rainbow.

I've finished off with some paper flowers, pearls and sequins for some bling. I've made a border with a stitching stamp from Viva Las Vegastamps.

Dusty Attic August Mood Board challenge

Another gorgeous mood board for the August challenge at Dusty Attic-

And here is my page. I really loved the colour palette of this mood board and the wood grain.

I have used Dusty Attic 'Small String Frames' chipboard and 'Blueprint DISCOVER' chipboard as my focal pieces on my layout. I have coloured these with Colour Blast texture paste, and spray mists.

I have also used Dusty Attic 'Mini Chicken Wire' chipboard for some added detail. I have coloured this with brown ink.

I have added some various flowers, including some gorgeous resin flowers and leaves from The Resin Rainbow.

I've also added some Heidi Swapp chipboard stickers, Pink Paislee cork hearts, a Pinkfresh Studio rubber sticker, and a crotchet heart from D'Lish Scraps.

Off the Rails Scrapbooking August challenge

The theme of this month's challenge at Off The Rails is 'Black and Anything Goes'

And here is my layout-

I've made a collage background with strips of paper, then added some texture paste through a Kaisercraft crackle stencil.

My embellishments are from Hip Kit Club, and I have also used a heart from Charm's Creations.

Jot Magazine August Mood Board

WOW! What another stunner of a mood board challenge at Jot Magazine. The girls truly do put together such amazing mood boards for the challenges, and this month is another dramatic palette put together by Anna.

And here is my page-

My background is flicks of a gesso/water mix, then some Colour Blast Australia 'Stormy Weather' texture paste through a Dusty Attic stencil.

I've used Maggie Holmes 'Shine' papers - the stripe and the fussy cut floral, as well as some red scraps.

I've used a Heidi Swapp 'shine' word as well as a quote from the Kaisercraft 'Just Landed' collection.

I've used a couple of felt embellishments from Charm's Creations, and finished off with some enamel shapes, twine and paper flowers.

Picture This August Mood Board/ Challenge YOUrself #32

I've been inspired by a couple of challenges to create a selfie layout.

I was inspired by several elements on the August mood board for the Picture This challenge, specifically the image of the brunette hair, the word 'alternate' because I like listening to alternate music. I also picked out the triangle patterns and the bold colours.

I was also inspired by this month's challenge at Challenge YOUrself. I took the colour palette from the inspiration image, as well as the 'moving forward' analogy.

And here is my layout-

I started with a mixed media background - Tim Holtz sprays, then Colour Blast Australia texture paste through a Dusty Attic script stencil, then another layer of white texture paste through a Flutterby Designs star stencil.

My 'frame' paper is Jen Hadfield and I've added some orange cardstock as another frame around the white cardstock.

I've added lots of elements from the 'Let's Get Loud' kit from Kit The Habit - the flair, quotes, chipboard circles and the black arrow acetate piece. I've also added some 2Crafty chipboard circles.

I've added some extra details will the music stamping, and added some yellow triangles. The 'imagine' word is from the Shimelle 'Starshine' collection.

Paper Flourish Kit Club August DT share/ Kraft+ Guest Designer

It's release day at Paper Flourish Kit Club!
This month's kit is right up my alley - a very masculine release from Kaisercraft just in time for Father's Day.

Paper Flourish is also sponsoring this month's challenge
at Kraft+ challenge blog.

I'm so excited to be representing Paper Flourish as a guest designer, and here is my layout 'Unique" for the 'Tassel' challenge using the August kit-

I really enjoyed getting 'messy' with all the mixed media elements
in this kit - the paint, texture paste and stencil.

I created a quick tassel from the fringing in the kit,
and also added the black twine and some Collectables.

You can also find step-by-step instructions for my next
2 layouts in the kit magazine.

A closer look-

I have used the Cogs stamp and die set, which is an extra add-on to the kit. The Collectables are so great for layering and clustering.

I just love the different textures of the corrugated card and the metal cogs.

My final layout "Authentic" uses the Antique Gold Kaiser Mist and a monochrome palette.

I just love the specialty gloss papers that Kaisercraft produce,
they take sprays so well. This one is 'Artifacts'.

I've also made a card with Father's Day in mind.

Don't forget if you subscribe to the kit for 6 months you will save 10%. But be quick, there is a special craft pack giveaway for the first
50 August Kit Club subscribers.
