Scrapbook Boutique August Moodboard challenge

Today I am playing along with the mood board
challenge at Scrapbook Boutique-

This colour palette reminds me of a popular gender- neutral
baby nursery colour palette,
so I made a card for a friend who is expecting soon-

I coloured some white cardstock with Tim Holtz Hickory Smoke
Distress Ink, then applied 'Sunshine' Colour Blast Colour Paste
through a star stencil.
Then once they were dry I outlined the stars
with a fine-tip pen to highlight them.
I added some ink detail around the edges
with Invilde Bolme white chalk ink.

I used a Kaisercraft stamp for my sentiment
with the white chalk ink.
I used a DIY star from Charm's Creations, and coloured it with 'Saffron' Colour Blast Colour Spray, Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, and added highlights with a fine-tip pen.

SBT50 August challenge - DT share

It's a sketch challenge this month at Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia.

And here is my DT page. I flipped the sketch around a bit to suit my photos.

I've used the awesome 'You Rock' collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I love this collection so much, and its just perfect for my fun-loving little man.

I've added some red spray ink, stamping, die cuts and some  Colour Blast 'Sunshine' colour paste through a stencil under my photos.

I hope you can join us for this month's challenge!

Uniquely Creative August Creative kit - DT share

This month I am Guest DT at Uniquely Creative for the August Creative kit.
I really love this masculine kit, featuring the Factory 42 collection from Kaisercraft.

So lets take a look at my projects-

I wanted this layout to appear as if the people in the photo were exploring into a hidden world behind the brick wall!

My next layout has more of a vintage feel-

I've also made some cards-

I've also created a layout as guest designer for Uniquely Creative for the August 'Branches and Leaves' challenge at Kraft+

I've used the August Creative kit exclusively. I created some 'sticks' with the brown colouring mediums in the kit.

Unfortunately this August Creative kit is now sold out, but make sure you sign up for a subscription so you never miss out! Keep an eye out for some new soon-to-be-released kits over at Uniquely Creative!

AALL & Create - ITAC'17 - Week 1 Entry

I was so excited when I saw the concept of the
International Tournament of Art and Craft
- ITAC'17-.

So here is my project for Challenge 1 - Europe.

I've created a canvas for my craft room.

I've used some Beethoven music paper (a European element) for my background and added some blue around the border.
I used an amazing AALL&Create exclusive stencil (designed by the incredible Fiona Paltridge) with some gold colour paste.

I have added some flair buttons from Fabrika Decoru. The designs on the flair represent the face and the vintage requirements, but also represent modern-day globalisation in the fact that I was able to buy these from Ukraine, all the way to Australia!

My chipboard title is from 2Crafty, and I have layered gesso, heat embossing, acrylic paint and Glossy Accents to build texture.
I've added lots of different textured embellishments - paper, chipboard, resin, wire, fabric, glass, feather, sequins and muslin.

I have used the following requirements for the
Week 1 Challenge-

  • A face
  • Music paper
  • Letters, numbers
  • Blue
  • Textures
  • Something both vintage and modern

I really enjoyed putting this project together,
and look forward to the Week 2 Challenge!

Scrap The Boys August challenge - DT share

This month's challenge at Scrap The Boys is super sized!
The challenge is to use a 5x7" or larger photo.
Here is my DT page-

I've used the awesome You Rock collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio
- I just can't get enough of Zoe's boy collections.

A super sized photo called for super sized embellishments. I've used a mix of die-cuts, wood veneer, rubber charms, flair and enamel shapes.

It's easy to create co-ordinated embellishment clusters by using multi-textured pieces from the same collection or manufacturer.
