D'Lish Scraps December Challenge

I've managed to get one more monthly challenge done this month!

This is the Inspiration Board for this month's challenge at D'lish Scraps

 -Summer Sorbet-

I just love summer and scrapping about it , and the Summer Sorbet palette and inspiration board just screams summer, and my favourite food - ICE CREAM!

I was also really inspired by the triangles in the sketch. I think my layout is so summery.

123 Challenge - December 2014

With all the hustle and bustle of Christmas over for another year, I found some quiet time today to finish off another layout - yes I'm guilty of having my desk covered in half-finished projects!!!

This is the inspiration board with the criteria for the
December 123 Challenge

And here is what I came up with. I really love how the watermelon colour contrasts so well with black.

Happy New Year!!

White... With 1 December Challenge

This month at White... With 1 the colour challenge is

White... with Paloma Grey

My inspiration for this colour scheme I thought was very
'wedding' -oriented,
so I scrapped a special moment of dancing with my Dad
at my wedding.

We look deep in conversation, but I can't remember
what we were talking about!

Scrap the Boys December Challenge

December is starting to get pretty busy, but I have managed to get some scrapping done.

This month's challenge at Scrap the Boys is a sketch,

and here's is my take on it:

123 Challenge November

This month's criteria at 123 Challenge blog is

Colour: Copper
Word: Good
Technique: Stars

I have to admit I was a bit daunted by the 'copper' colour. I ended up making a copper colour background with some gold spray mist over brown cardstock.

Scrap The Boys November Challenge

The challenge this month at Scrap the Boys is

'Showing the Softer Side of your boy'.

I absolutely love this photo of my 2 boys, and this was the perfect challenge prompt for it.

This photo was taken by the lovely Sandy from Memory Bank Photography. You can see more of her work here.

D'Lish Scraps November Inspiration Board Challenge

The inspiration board at D'Lish Scraps this month is called

 "Coral Glitz"

It's just so, so pretty.

Here is my layout inspired by this board

Show Us Your Stuff November Challenge

This month's challenge over at Show Us Your Stuff  is so intriguing, so much inspiration on the one challenge!

Choose Your Own Scrap Adventure

I've used the word LOVE; a butterfly embellishment; stamping and a 5x7 photo.

My handmade item is a chevron from Charm's Creations, and a flair from Flutterby Designs.

I found a piece of paper that matched my photo perfectly (Webster's Pages Strawberry Fields - Field of Gold). The boys are actually sitting in a field of long grass and that matched the background paper.

The photo was taken on a recent family shoot with the lovely Sandy from Memory Bank Photography. You can see more of her work on her blog.

The sketch for the Anna'a Craft Cupboard November challenge looks like this

And this is the layout I came up with. These are some gorgeous flowers growing in my Mum's garden.

I love the pink and green palette to reflect the colours of the flowers.

White ...with 1 November Challenge

This month's challenge at White ...With 1 is

I just love how the yellow tones just put a bit of sunshine in my soul, so that's what I thought I would put down on my page.

Today I am joining in at the Mei Li Paperie

Each month's challenge is of an image to inspire a layout.
The October inspiration image looks like this

So much going on in this image!

And this is the layout I came up with

I've managed to get one more October challenge done before the end of the month (can you believe it's nearly November!)

This month's prompt at Scrap The Boys is

I decided to scrap a series of photos of my 15-month-old and his newest obsession with the Nintendo DS.

Jot Magazine Oct/Nov Mood Board

I am absolutely in love with the latest Mood Board over at Jot Magazine. The greys, browns, turquoise, and reds are just so,
so pretty.

I'm a little bit in love with the layout that I came up with. Not only because I love the colour palette from the mood board to work with, but it's also one of my favourite photos ever of my youngest son.

I added some beautiful spotted feathers that I found, and I think they fit in really well with the mood board.

D'Lish Scraps October Inspiration Board Challenge

Today I've finally finished my layout for the

I used the polka dots for my background, with lots of pops of turquoise, pink and lime green.

I turned the sketch 90 degrees to accommodate my landscape photo.

I don't scrap photos of myself very often, which is why I think I've been playing around with this layout for a couple of weeks.

Society 52 Instagram challenge #15 feature layout

I FINALLY had a chance to play along with the Society52 weekly challenge on Instagram.

This week's challenge is 'SCRAP YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTE'. I chose one of my current favourite song lyrics, and because I love stars on my layouts it seemed like a natural choice.

Here is what I came up with.

On Thursdays the girls add a 'twist' to the challenge, a prompt to add something to the layouts.

This week's twist is 'ADD TIN FOIL'. At first I thought 'What!? Tin foil?", then I realised it would be perfect for my starry layout. I added some foil banners behind my title to make it stand out more, and also added some foil stars.

Any excuse to add more sparkly stars!!

AND I was so stoked to see my layout was chosen as a feature!

I'm such a fan of the Society52 girls - Sarah Bargo and Maggie Massey , so I was blown away that they not only saw my page, but commented - and chose it as a feature!

Black With 2 October challenge

Today I'm having a go at this months Black With 2 challenge - mulberry and pink, with the jounalling word 'PRETTY'.

And here's what I came up with. I had to think outside the box a bit to use the word 'Pretty' on a boys layout. And also Peppa and George are pink!

Scrappery September kit

While I'm waiting for my October kit from The Scrappery to arrive in the mail, and the Peek Party and Cyber Crop for the November kits are happening tonight on The Scrappery's facebook page, I thought I would share a couple of layouts using the September TSK kit 'Jericho'.

The kit contained lots of masculine colours - lots of dark blue which I love working with, and bold geometric patterned papers.

I'm saving the packet of Solstice ephemera for a special gift album I'm making up, so I put that aside and focused on the papers for a couple of layouts.

Unfortunately the glitter pen I used for the journalling didn't photograph well, but the journalling basically talked about how my son really wanted to go on the ferris wheel when we went to the Show.. He clung on to me for the whole ride so I knew he was nervous, but was laughing and waving the whole time.

This is another layout where I used the papers from the kit. This is a very 'pretty' layout, which is not something I do often, but it matched this photo of me and my husband.

Also I was very excited to see a layout I had done for the August Cyber Crop featured on the Scrappery's blog here.
