More Than Words/Scrapbook Boutique Oct challenges

The challenge this month at More Than Words is

I'm also using the mood board for the October challenge at Scrapbook Boutique. Butterflies are the ultimate symbol for 'change'.

And here is my page-

My inspiration for using mint green was this month's 'Just Add Paper' kit from D'Lish Scraps, as well as the gorgeous mint 'Ombre Sky' paper I used for my background ( The Happy Life by Kim Watson).

My title 'grow' is inspired by the 'change' challenge word -  a reminder to never stop changing for the better.

I've used sprays, paint splatters, stamping and of course paper layers. I've used some items from the October D'Lish Scraps Just Add Paper Kit.

To colour my wood veneer butterflies I have started with acrylic paint, then added a layer of Colour Blast colour paste, inked then stamped over the top. I've used stamps from Kaisercraft and Viva Las Vegastamps! I also punched some smaller butterflies from paper.

I've finished off with some word strips from Flutterby Designs, sequins and some glitter glue dots.

White... With 1 October challenge

This month's colour at White...With 1 is CAYENNE - an orange shade of red.

And here is my take on the challenge

For my background I've used sprays, stencils, washi tape, stamps and some tiny word stickers.

I've used papers from Crate Paper and Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I've also used some ephemera from Cocoa Vanilla Studio and some Maggie Holmes chipboard thickers.

Viva Las Vegastamps! October Challenge

Today I am playing along with the October Inspiration challenge at Viva Las Vegastamps!

I was inspired by the colour palette and the stars, but mostly by my favourite stamp - the squiggly star.

Here's a look at my project - an art journal page.

I've added lots of texture - paint, stencilling, plasterer's tape, fabric, lace, even a baby wipe.

I stamped my squiggly star onto some book pages and doodled over the top.

Dusty Attic October Mood Board Challenge

I absolutely love the classic colour palette of this month's challenge at Dusty Attic. I was inspired by the different patterns on the pillows, and the box shelves in differing colours.

And here's what I came up with

I used some Dusty Attic hexagon chippie, which I painted with silver acrylic paint. I attached various patterns from some Kaisercraft Captured Memories 'Let It Shine' cards at differing heights. I also covered the solid hexagons with paper for some more dimension.

Because the background was so busy with patterned paper, I kept the embellishments to a minimum - a sequin bow from D'Lish Scraps, a puffy sun sticker from Cocoa Vanilla Studio, and a tab and flair from Flutterby Designs.

Jot Magazine/Anna's Craft Cupboard Oct challenges

For this layout I have combined the October mood board challenge at Jot Magazine and the sketch challenge at Anna's Craft Cupboard for October.

Here's a look at the Jot Magazine mood board

and the Anna's Craft Cupboard sketch designed by Kylie Cornish

Here is my layout-

I was really inspired by the squares on the sketch so I have cut the stripes from the Crate Paper Cute Girl 'Rainbows' paper in to individual squares. I have framed my layout with the 'Giggle' paper also from the Cute Girl range.

I have added some ephemera from the Amy Tan 'Oh Happy Life' collection, and simply doodled some more squares with a black Sharpie.

123 Challenge blog October challenge

The challenge this month at 123 Challenge Blog is another perfect prompt to scrap my adventure loving, outdoor boys.

Here is my layout

My background paper is from Bella!, and I have matted this on Kraft cardstock. I have distressed the edges of each layer  under my photo.

My chipboard title is Bella Boulevard.

I have used chipboard leaves from 2Crafty which I have coloured with an olive green gelato. I have also added some embellies from Charm's Creations, Flutterby Designs and Studio Calico.

Scrap The Boys Oct challenge - DT share

Its a sketch challenge this month at Scrap The Boys

And here is my DT page-

I've used papers from Cocoa Vanilla Studio, and added some Tim Holtz Distress Stain.

I've used ephemera from Simple Stories 'So Rad' and Kaisercraft "Off the Wall' collections.

The circles and quote are from the 'Let's Get Loud' kit from Kit The Habit.

I hope you can have a go at this month's challenge!

Scrap The Girls October Moodboard Challenge

I really loved the mood board this month at Scrap The Girls.

I thought the soft, pastel mood board palette would be perfect to document my niece's First Birthday. Here is my layout-

I made the background with a purple gelato, then added some 'Envy' Colour Blast colour paste through a polka dot stencil. I added some stamping with grey ink.

I also used some 'Lipstick' Colour Blast paste to colour the wood veneer hearts, to mirror the pink bow in my niece's hair.

I used ephemera from 'The Craft Stall' ( Reject Shop) and Kaisercraft, as well as some Glitz giant rhinestones, and some resin flowers and a crotchet heart from D'Lish Scraps. I also added a real feather to reflect the feathers image in the mood board.
