Dusty Attic December Challenge

Now that Christmas is over for another year and
I have a few days of holidays, I managed to get one more
creative piece done before the end of the year.

Today I have created a piece inspired by the
December challenge at Dusty Attic.

I have created a dream catcher, using an upcycled gift box.
I was inspired by the gorgeous pastel colours of the mood board, especially the mint, pink, yellow and silver.

I started with a white box and I painted the front with black gesso (and some glitter) and painted the sides of the box with Kaisercraft 'Spearmint' acrylic paint.

I've used a Dusty Attic String Frame chipboard piece for the frame of my dream catcher. I have coloured this with Colour Blast Colour Paste in 'Envy'.

I've used a Dusty Attic 'Blueprint - Imagine' chipboard piece for my title. I coloured it with Dylusions paint in Peony Blush and then added a layer of Glossy Accents to make it shine.

I can't get enough of these Uniquely Creative Feather dies - perfect for die-cutting my feathers from several different patterned papers.
To add layers to my feathers I used the negative piece from the Dusty Attic 'Boho Feathers' chipboard set as a stencil to paint in some feathers underneath.

Lastly I added some flowers and some paint 'strings'.
I also added lots of splatters using watered-down gesso, Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Cubes and Colour Shimmer Spray.

I just loved how it turned out.

Scrap The Boys Dec challenge - DT share

This month at Scrap The Boys the challenge is an inspiration image.
There is so much to take from this
- the rainbow colours, the Christmas theme etc.

I was inspired by the rainbow colours and the triangle shape,
and this is what I came up with

To make my background I cut out a heap of triangles from different coloured cardstock, drew a border on each then folded up the edges. I have to admit it took about 2 days to make all of these triangles, but I think the effect is worth it! I have used up the leftovers in my art journal.

I added some Kraft paper and coloured papers under my photos, and added a Charm's Creation embellie to continue the triangle theme.
I used some puffy stickers for my title.

Scrapbooking Top 50 Aus Dec challenge - DT share

Sadly, this is my last DT project for
I've had a great time over the last 2 years on this fab team!

So let's take a look at the December challenge-

Isn't it gorgeous!!??

And here is my DT page-

I've used a Kinder Kreations word for my title, and heat embossed it with Colour Blast 'Tangareen Dream' Colour Embossing Powder.

I stamped some feathers and coloured them with acrylic paint and water colours. I cut these out and then heat embossed with the stamp again to create the white outline.
I also stamped and coloured some leaves directly onto the Kraft base to add some depth.

I finished with some splatters of course!

More Than Words November challenge

I absolutely LOVE this months challenge at More Than Words

Wood grain is definitely my most favourite design element to scrap with, I love the textures and the outdoorsy/ beachy feel to it.
And I have 2 energetic boys that love exploring, so I have plenty of outdoors photos to scrap.

So here is the page I made with this challenge in mind.

I have used a piece of Blue Fern Studio Wanderlust - 'Pacific Coast' paper. I liked the blue tint of the wood grain pattern, but it was quite 'beachy', being from a coastal collection, so I 'dirtied' it up a bit with some brown ink.

I created a mixed media background using Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dusts and watercolour Colour Shimmer Cubes.
I recreated the rocks in the photo by using Colour Blast Colour Paste
through a Fabrika Decoru stencil.

My chipboard title is from Dusty Attic, and I coloured that with inks. I also added some Dusty Attic chipboard viewfinders, but kept them raw to add to the outdoors theme.
I coloured an Imaginarium Designs fern chipboard piece with Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dust in 'Lush' that I had used in the background. I added some muslin under my photo. I coloured this with Colour Blast 'Peacock' Colour  Shimmer Spray.

I added a flair from Flutterby Designs, flowers, string and some resin flowers from D-Lish Scraps.  I also added a Tim Holtz word sticker and the branding strip from the Blue Fern paper.

and an Amy Tangerine roller stamp.

I've been hoarding the ephemera pack from the Cocoa Vanilla 'Totally Rad' collection, but decided this was the perfect page!

Dusty Attic October challenge

Today I am playing along with the October challenge at Dusty Attic.

And here is my layout.
My layout was inspired by the colour palette, the vintage theme
and the circles in the mood board.

My title is a Blueprint - Dream piece coloured with Dylusions paint. I've also added a Cog Cluster, but kept this raw as I liked the colour and texture.

Within my layers I've used some Large String Frames
that I coloured with gelatos, and a Brick Paving Panel, coloured with acrylic paint and ink.

I've also added some flowers from D-lish Scraps
and vintage papers.

More Than Words/CSI October Challenges

Today I am playing along with the October
challenge at More Than Words

The word 'DELICATE' to me inspired me to scrap a photo of a High Tea that I recently attended for a dear friend's baby shower.

All the pieces of food were so delicate and delicious, and the small details of fresh flowers made the individual platters even more special.

I have also been inspired by Case File 240 at
CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.

I've used all the colours in the SCHEME. For the EVIDENCE I have used hearts, stars, cakes, butterflies, flowers, borders. For the TESTIMONY I have documented a celebration.

Here is my layout-

I used some papers and embellishments from Kaisercraft.

I've used some lace, seam binding and ribbon.
I layered some Aida cross stitch fabric under my photo.

I've also used fabric flowers and some felt
from Charm's Creations.

I've added tissue paper and lace doilie to
complement the 'delicate' theme.
I've also added butterflies and flowers.
